Former Chiefs striker accused of chasing money

New Chippa United signing Edward Manqele is being accused of a lack of loyalty because of money by his former employers Free State Stars, according to a source.

The source revealed that management at the club are not happy with Manqele’s decision to leave after they resurrected his ailing career when no club wanted to sign him after his release by Kaizer Chiefs last year.

“The club signed him on a short-term contract, but that’s because they wanted to see if he still had what it takes to get back to his best because he stayed a long time without playing. The idea was to help him get back to his best and once he had done that, a long-term contract was going to come.

“He showed he could still play and now just because a better offer came through he decided to leave the club,” said the source.
