Maritzburg set to lose star player

Maritzburg United have resigned themselves to losing one of their star performers this season, Siphesihle Ndlovu, next season despite coach Fadlu Davids' protestations, Phakaaathi has learnt.

“A big team who have a coach who is known for grooming youngsters have come with an offer which will see Maritzburg get a few players in exchange. The team know they can’t hold on to their stars forever and with other youngsters waiting on the wings, they are likely to release him,” said the source.

The 21-year-old Ndlovu has been tipped for big things and was among the 26-man Bafana Bafana squad named by Stuart Baxter earlier this week.

Chiefs were said to be interested in signing the talented youngster during the January transfer period, but they did not table an offer for him.
