Offers pouring in for ex-Milford coach Mvalo

“But the curious part is that with him two doors have opened while the other one is also not completely shut," says a source.

While new Motsepe Foundation side Milford FC are still uncertain if they want coach Asanda Mvalo to leave, he has attracted the attention of two Limpopo-based sides.

Milford announced a couple of weeks ago that Mvalo and his technical team had been asked to step aside.

But information reaching the Mgosi Squad is that the KwaZulu-Natal based side may still want Mvalo back as they are yet to hire a new coach.

However, Venda-based sides, Black Leopards and Venda Football Academy have made enquiries about Mvalo’s availability.

“You know when they say when one door closes, another opens, that is what has happened to Mvala,” says a Mgosi Squad source.

“But the curious part is that with him two doors have opened while the other one is also not completely shut.

“The two clubs came out this week to ask if he would be available to come should they make an offer. Venda want him to bring his own assistants while Leopards want him to come and work as co-coach with (Mongezi) Bobe.

“I have heard that he prefers taking Doctor Mkhonza with him instead. But we will see what he decides in the next few days,” added the source.

Mvalo is one of the upcoming coaches in local football and those who have worked with him believe he has a bright future in coaching.

He is a former player and spent most of his playing days at Thanda Royal Zulu (now Richards Bay FC) while he had stints at Bay United, Baroka and  Jomo Cosmos among other teams.

The 42-year-old Mvalo started his coaching career at Milford while they campaigned in the ABC Motsepe League before buying Uthongathi FC’s Championship status.
