Pirates keen on Arrows goalkeeper

Orlando Pirates are said to be monitoring Golden Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede with a view to signing him next season.

The 24-year-old keeper was in good form for Arrows until he was injured recently.

“The new Pirates goalkeeping coach likes him. He feels he has the right height and he likes tall keepers. I heard he told the team to rather go for him instead of Brilliant Khuzwayo which is why Pirates never followed through on their interest in the Chiefs man,” said a source.

Gumede has however struggled to regain his position at Arrows after his injury saw Maximilian Mbaeva take over in goal.
