Mosimane to add three more players

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is looking to add three players during the current transfer window to bolster his squad as he prepares his team for the Caf Champions League.

“We are using these games [league games] for Caf Champions League preparations,” he told SuperSport TV at the back of his side’s 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday night.

“I think three will come,” said Mosimane.

One of those three players could be long-time Sundowns’ target Jeremy Brockie, who Mosimane has previously described as “the sniper”. However, ‘Jingles’ has distanced himself from commenting about the Kiwi.

“Jeremy Brockie is still with another club. I must respect SuperSport United, so I can’t talk about Jeremy,” he said.

Downs have sold defender Kwanda Mngonyama to Cape Town City, and Mosimane says more players are facing the exit door.

“We might lose about three or four in my opinion. Unfortunately we have a small squad of 24 players, we don’t have much. People know Sundowns having a lot of players. We have 24 in-field players and four goalkeepers.

“Thela Ngobeni also wants a break to go play somewhere but we are managing the situation, we don’t have a big squad.”
