Chippa had gone into the lead early in the game through Phakamani Mahlambi, but Bucs responded well with Tshegofatso Mabasa, Abel Mabaso and Goodman Mosele to take away the three points.

This was the Buccaneers second victory in as many matches, collecting six points in the process, after beating Swallows FC in their past game.

Pirates are temporarily on top of the log with eight points after four games depending on how other fixtures go in the league, while Chippa remain in four points.

The home side were first to take a shot at goals, with a Thabang Sekotlong shot on target, but Siyabonga Mpontshane managed to keep out the danger in the third minute of the match.

Chippa didn’t wait long to open the scoring, as Mahlambi found the back of the net in the 12th minute.

The tempo of the game went soon after, with the Buccaneers throwing everything at their opponents, while the Chilli Boys looked like they could extend their lead.

But, it would be Bucs who will get their prayers answered as Mabasa levelled scores in the 29th minute to bring Bucs back into the game after benefitting from a loose ball, before sending in a thunderous shit into net.

It was an entertaining half throughout, with Mahlambi having missed an opportunity to score his second goal of the match, while Pirates also saw their chances pass by going into half-time.

The second half was of the same, with the two teams looking for to get the second.

Some nice build up by the Buccaneers on the right side saw Bandile Shandu supplying Abel Mabaso inside the box to make it 2-1 for the visitors.

Pirates weren’t done yet with job, after another good play from midfield saw Mabaso picking up Mosele, who made a clinical finish inside the box to make it 3-1 in the 79th minute.

Chippa tried everything they can to come back into the game, but their efforts didn’t count for nothing as the Soweto giants bagged maximum points.
