Pitso calls on PSL to hand down judgement in Arendse case

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says it is difficult for him and his technical team to determine how many points they still need to win the league.

Speaking after his side’s 2-0 loss to SuperSport United in Tshwane derby on Wednesday night, Mosimane said the Arendse case was taking too long.

Sundowns have been found guilty of fielding defender Wayne Arendse in their match against Bidvest Wits. Judgement on this case was postponed last Friday as Sundowns were away in Cairo to play Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League.

“It’s just a little bit different emotionally to be back in the PSL as especially for me. You don’t know how many points you have in the bag. This thing takes too long,” Mosimane to SuperSport TV.

“You can’t fight when you don’t know the ammunition you have. I don’t want to pass around a negative message around because we have the people of Sundowns and players who want to win the league. Personally I am not inspired by the league this year, win or lose it’s complicated. I thought last year we are going through teething problems when we didn’t know how many points we need to win the league,” he added.

“When you walk around after winning the trophy you know you deserved it. But this year I don’t know what is going to happen to us this year if we win it or lose it or those who will win it, it’s turning around to something else. I am not trying to says Wyne Arendse is not guilty rules are rules deal with this thing as quick as possible man. Probably Mr Nande Becker will help us and do what he has to do, there is a lot of mixed feelings,” concluded Mosimane.
