Pitso confirms Khama Billiat’s departure

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Khama Billiat is on his way out of the club.

Billiat scored a brace to help Sundowns beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 at Bidvest Stadium on Tuesday night.

After the game, Mosimane was asked why he left Billiat on the bench and also about the Zimbabwean’s future at Sundowns.

“I left him on the bench because the team that started against Orlando Pirates the last time played well, not because of the contract situation. But if you want news on that, Khama is leaving,” Mosimane told the media.

“We have our people in South America because [Leonardo] Castro is also leaving. This means the CBD [Castro, Billiat and Dolly combination] has officially been dismantled,” added Mosimane.

Billiat said he would continue to give his best for Sundowns until his contract runs out.

“I still want to play for this club. It is very important for me to be professional because I don’t want to look like I am disrespecting everyone. I have teammates that keep pushing me, and the technical team that has taught me so much,” commented Billiat.

Billiat has been previously linked with moves to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City, but it is believed he wants to go to Europe.
