Salgado wants to emulate Amanda Dlamini

National Under-20 and JVW midfielder Gabriela Salgado has revealed that she gets her inspiration from former Banyana Banyana captain Amanda Dlamini.

“She is living her life, she has made a name for herself because of football and everyone knows who Amanda Dlamini is. I really want to be like someone like her,” said Salgado.

Salgado is currently in camp with Basetsana for their second leg of the 2018 World cup qualifier against Namibia, which will be played this weekend.

The midfielder was on the score-sheet when coach Maud Khumalo’s charges crushed Namibia 5-0 in the first leg.

Ahead of the second leg, Salgado says it is important for the team not to take it lightly because of their huge goal advantage.

“We need to focus and work together. And again we must not underestimate them because they might bring a different team that might probably be stronger.”

The team departs for Namibia on Friday, with the match scheduled to take place at the Sam Nojuma Stadium on Sunday.
