Sexual tryst costs Black Leopards in Bloem Celtic match

The players were both fined for letting their team down and lying to their teammates and coach.

Black Leopards’ recent lacking performance could be due to their minds not being in the game – but rather in an alleged sexual escapade involving players Karabo Tshepe and Joseph Mhlongo.

Sunday World reports that the club’s 3-0 loss against Bloemfontein Celtic last month could have been due to the fact that players snuck two women into their hotel rooms the night before the match.

Tshepe and Mhlongo were substituted in the second half after a lacklustre performance, after which they were confronted by teammates. During the confrontation, it was allegedly revealed that the implicated players arranged to book the women into their hotel rooms before the Black Leopards team arrived at the same hotel.

Tshepe and Mhlongo made their excuses the night before the match, citing their need to use the bathroom. It later emerged that this was their cue to make their way to the ladies they had arranged to meet in a different hotel room.

Leopards coach Dylan Kerr confirmed that the incident did take place, but did not want the team to dwell on it. He did however say that they were punished, but declined to elaborate.

Kerr reportedly prevented Tshepe and Mhlongo from being banned by club owner David Thidiela, but thankfully, were only fined.
