Singh: Don’t compare me to Benni
Amajita sensation Luther Singh says he draws inspiration from Bafana Bafana's all-time top goalscorer but refuses to entertain the comparison made between him and Benni McCarthy.

“Benni is a big player. I can’t be compared to him, I have watched him play, and I am learning. Its’ big shoes to fill, but I am not putting myself under pressure for anything, and I will take every step as it comes,” said Singh.
Singh is not surprised by the recent call-up to the South African senior men’s team at the age of 19, which was the same age that McCarthy got his call up to Bafana Bafana.
The Amajita forward finished as the top goalscorer in the recent under-20 Africa Cup of Nations months after he was named the top goalscorer in the Cosafa cup tournament.
“I never saw myself playing for Bafana at age 19,” admitted the striker. “My target was to make my debut appearance probably at age 21. That was my plan. But then again, I worked hard for it. I put in the required work at my club, and look at me now. I’m not surprised that I got the call-up.”
