Stars target nine points before Christmas break

Platinum Stars defender Gift Sithole says they are looking to collect nine points in their last three games of the year.

The Phokeng-based outfit is currently second from the bottom of league table with nine points after 12 games.

Dikwena will face Polokwane City on Wednesday, followed by a clash with Kaizer Chiefs before taking on Bidvest Wits.

“We want to win so badly. There are nine points to play for. We have to get them and move. Nine points will take us way up on the log. When we come back in January, we have to be in a better position. I believe in my team and I have confidence that we will move from where we are,” said Sithole.

The centre-back doesn’t think the club deserves to be where it is, and says they will have to be smart to win their matches.

“We have to be smart sometimes. You can work hard but if you are not smart it’s a problem. The way we play, we don’t deserve to be where we are.”
