There is a lot for Wits to fight for besides league – Ntshangase

Bidvest Wits midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase has revealed that the Absa Premiership defending champions’ bad start to the season makes it unlikely for them to win it for a second time in a row.

The Students have won just one match so far this season and are 15th on the log with just five points after seven games.

“The way we started makes it look bad,” said Ntshangase as quoted on Isolezwe on Thursday. “But if you want success in life you have to be hopeful under any situation because once you lose hope, you lose everything.

“I believe we still have a lot to fight for, even if it is not the league title. There is the Telkom Knockout, the Nedbank Cup and Caf Champions League to play for,” he said.

Ntshangase said he would be happy if they could be in the top eight at summer break.

“We have about six or seven games before the break and if we can win four or five of them we can get into the top eight.”
