Tinkler dreads another Caf heartbreak

SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler does not want to finish second best in the Caf Confederation Cup again.

Matsatsantsa A Pitori are set to face defending champions TP Mezembe in two legs final next month.

Tinkler was on the losing end in 2015’s edition of the continent’s second tier club competition with Orlando Pirates against Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia.

“I have experienced and tasted how it’s like to go all the way to the final and lose it, and we don’t want that to happen again,” Tinkler told reporters.

The ex-Cape Town City coach continued: “It a fantastic achievement for us to get to the final, but we haven’t won anything yet. We want to go all the way, and how do we do that? We remain focus and remain humble. We have the final and that is the job, afterwards, we can celebrate and talk.

“We feel great and excellent inside, but the job is not done, that’s the important thing. It is a moment of pride for everybody involved at the club, it is a moment of pride for me.”
