We need to score goals – Shabba

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siphiwe 'Shabba' Tshabalala has admitted that failing to convert scoring chances will hamper the team’s progress.

Amakhosi have scored just 12 times in 14 Absa Premiership matches and Shabba admits that this is unacceptable.

“For us to win games we need to score goals,” said the 34-year-old. “We have been lacking in that department. We do create good scoring chances but fail to convert. We need to come up with a solution to that,” he added.

Despite opening a five points gap at the top, Shabba believes Mamelodi Sundowns can still be overtaken as there is still a long way to go.

“Sundowns are one team who when they start winning and collecting points get very dangerous,” he said. “But the league is still open but with that said it doesn’t mean we can relax. Sundowns are showing their intentions of going all the way and we must wake up now and start winning games, find momentum,” said Tshabalala.
