Zwane is staying with Sundowns – agent

Themba Zwane’s agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane, says the Bafana Bafana midfielder will renew his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns soon.

Zwane, whose contract with Sundowns is set to expire in June, has been subject of speculation of a move away from Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport have been mentioned as his possible destinations. However, Mahlakgane insists that ‘Mshishi’ is staying with Sundowns.

“I think next week we will be done. Mshishi is staying with Sundowns. He is not going anywhere. He is still happy at Sundowns, and that’s why he will renew his contract with the club,” Mahlakgane told IOL.

Last month, Zwane expressed his desire to ply his trade overseas, but Mahlakgane says the Bafana midfielder needs to be realistic about his chances of getting an overseas deal.

“There’s no offer or interest from European clubs at the moment.

“Overseas is not everything. Mshishi can’t go to the UK because Bafana Bafana are not well-ranked. So where does he go if he is not going to the UK?

“He is 28 and will be turning 29. We need to be realistic. The player needs to be financially stable, and sometimes growth doesn’t mean you must go overseas,” explained Mahlakgane.
