Tinkler blames Sundowns for Brockie’s poor form

Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler believes Mamelodi Sundowns did not do enough to help Jeremy Brockie regain his scoring form.

Brockie has struggled to regain the form that saw him being one of the feared strikers in the Absa Premiership while he was SuperSport United.

After spending much of his time on the bench at Sundowns, Brockie joined Maritzburg on loan from the Brazilians this season.

“You need to understand that a player if he hasn’t played for a long time like in Brockie’s case, he didn’t play for six to seven months,” Tinkler was quoted as saying by Isolezwe.

“According to my knowledge, Brockie was not trained correctly at Sundowns. When he joined us he wasn’t as sharp as he should be as a player. That improved and he can now play 65, 75 minutes of a game.

“He played for 97 minutes in our last game and that makes me happy because he is now fit to play and we will get what we need from him.”
