We should have slaughtered Chiefs – Tinkler

Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler believes his team should have won by a bigger margin in their shock victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout semifinals over the weekend.

A brace from Judas Moseamedi was enough to give the Team of Choice a 2-1 win over Amakhosi and a place in the final of the Telkom Knockout.

Tinkler reckons his charges were so far superior to Chiefs and should have won by five or six goals.

“Chiefs were there for the taking and we should have slaughtered them. A victory by five or six goals would not have flattered us,” said Tinkler after the game.

The Team of Choice will now meet Mamelodi Sundowns in the final on December 14.

“Now we face Sundowns and I have told my players that if they want to be the best, they have to beat the best,” added Tinkler.
