Awards for exception diligence
The annual diligence to duty award ceremony was held at the police station on Friday (November 22).
The objective is to motivate members by issuing awards to those who have performed their duties with exceptional diligence.
Members are nominated by the police executive management who believe that they have offered an outstanding service. The awards are handed out by he CPF.
Police officers, some reluctantly, stepped up to receive certificates of recognition for service above and beyond the call of duty.
This from a delegation of Springs CPF members, including chairman Mike du Toit and the Clydesdale CPF’s Barries Barnard and Louis Hennings.
The whole purpose of the exercise is to improve the moral amongst police by rewarding them for contributing to community policing and fighting crime.
Police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora thanked everyone for the wonderful gesture, specially the community of Springs.
Station commander Brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe emphasised the awards received were made possible by the community of Springs in helping them to serve the community and take a stern stance on crime.
The event also served as a year-end function for police, where everyone enjoyed a few hours of camaradie over a meal.
