Resident Anton Botha is grateful to Springs police after officers helped him recover power tools that were stolen from his Endicott home last Wednesday evening.
Botha received a call from his tenants informing him about the break-in at his house and arrived at the property the following morning.
He called police and, along with his workers, went to a house where they suspected they would find the culprits.

Upon arrival, they found two men, one of whom is a former employee of Botha’s, as well as all the items stolen during the break-in the night before. When questioned by police about the tools, the men said it belonged to their friend.
After they were unable to prove ownership of the tools, the pair was arrested by police and Botha’s tools were recovered.
Among the tools recovered was a generator, a drill, a welding machine, a grinder, a cut-off machine, a trolley, a toolbox, a socket set and two sanders.

The pair also led police to other items they had taken from the house, which were hidden in the grass outside the property.
“I want to thank Sgt Ntshangase and Const Nondabula for their hard work.
“They were on the scene 15 minutes after I called them and were willing to do the work.
“In three hours, they made two arrests and recovered R30 000 worth of equipment that had been stolen,” said Botha.
