GALLERY: Community comes out in their numbers for Springs Girls High Christmas market
Residents enjoyed treats, handmade gifts, and festive activities at the school’s well-supported market.
The Christmas market hosted by Springs Girls High School on December 6 drew a strong turnout, with Springs residents turning out in numbers to support the event.
Event organiser and school teacher Caitlin Pretorius told the Springs Advertiser that the school grounds had been transformed into a Christmas wonderland.
She shared that from the moment the gates opened, the air was filled with the cheerful buzz of families, friends, and neighbours eager to enjoy a day of holiday fun.
She said the children’s faces lit up at the sight of the vibrant face-painting stall, while the jumping castle provided endless bounces and giggles. The photo booth captured countless smiles, and the doodle booth offered personalised sketches created by art department learners.

The school choir filled the quad with beloved Christmas carols, their voices adding a perfect soundtrack to the festivities.
The stalls offered everything from delicious treats and unique drinks to handcrafted gifts, toys, books, thrifted clothing, and quirky accessories, ensuring there was something for every taste and budget.
“The day was more than just a market; it was a joyful gathering that highlighted the strong sense of community that makes our school special,” Pretorius said.
The school’s next market is on July 25, 2026. She concluded by saying that they cannot wait to welcome the community back for another festive celebration of creativity, music, and fun.
