Though no one knew

A regular Addie reader is concerned about Springs.

I drive along the N17 highway to work and I see there is excavations going on between Edelweiss and Casseldale near the squatter camp and the sewage farm.

Does anybody know what is going on there?

When I phoned the council a while back they said if a low cost housing project is planned the affected people in the surrounding areas will be notified in writing and given time to object. I received no notification.

Can someone ask the council at the next meeting what are the plans for Springs. Is Springs just going to be a dumping ground for unwanted people?

The only side that Springs can be extended to add economical value, is in these areas, yet they are earmarked for low cost housing.

All the money in the metro just go towards Kempton and Germiston and other areas while our town is neglected and filthy.

Why? I am not going to invest in my house and possibly move if they keep pushing down the house prices by their bad decisions.

* There is an application for proposed Edelweiss Extension Three township which was received in August 2011.

The application is for residential and commercial development. The public participation process was conducted correctly as the application was advertised in the newspaper and provincial gazette and site notices were erected as required.

All the surrounding neighbours were notified by registered mail.
