EMPD nabs two suspects in Springs and Putfontein operations

An EMPD operation led to the arrest of two suspects in Springs and Putfontein, including an undocumented man and a wanted house break-in suspect.

The EMPD arrested two suspects for house break-ins, theft, contempt of court, and contravention of the Immigration Act between April 8 and 9 in the Springs and Putfontein areas.

According to the EMPD, they arrested an undocumented man in Bakerton for not having a passport to identify himself.

“He was later taken to the Springs Police Station for contravening the Immigration Act,” the EMPD said.

Tracing Unit officers received information about a suspect sought for arrest in the Putfontein area for house break-in and theft charges, including a warrant of arrest.

“The suspect was traced and detained at the Putfontein Police Station,” the EMPD said.

The apprehended suspects are expected to appear in the relevant magistrates’ courts soon.
