Sasolburg vehicle licensing office closed after employee tested positive for Covid-19

The Sasolburg vehicle licensing office was closed with immediate effect on Wednesday 10 June 2020. This comes after a female employee tested positive for Covid-19.

According to a statement by the Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport (DPRT), the official went for testing after showing flu like symptoms on Monday 8 June 2020. The test was confirmed as positive on Wednesday 10 June 2020.

The DPRT says it regrets the closure and the subsequent disruption of services at the office. The office only reopened on Monday 1 June 2020 after the lockdown alert levels 5 and 4, but will now stay closed until further notice to allow health workers to conduct assessments at the premises and do screening of all staff members working in that office and to implement all regulatory sanitising protocols.

The DPRT recommends that customers in the meantime use other licensing and testing facilities in their regions.
