VEREENIGING. – The McLaren Circus, South Africa’s only remaining traditional circus, supported the #LightSAred campaign on Wednesday 5 August in showing solidarity with the entertainment industry in these troubled times.

 

The big top circus tent was lit up with red light to highlight the enormous challenges facing live events, music and performing arts sectors during the lockdown.

 

The cirus was shut down due to the Corona Virus on 19th March 2020, left with zero income since.

The industry, comprising of freelancers, venues, theatres, companies and businesses have been unable to work since the blanket ban on all events, due to the Coronavirus, implemented in South Africa on 15 March 2020.
