Sedibeng police officer to appear in court for drunk driving

As security forces continue to balance crime prevention and enforcing Covid-19 level 2 lockdown regulations a 27-year-old Constable was amongst the 740 suspects arrested during weekend operations in Gauteng.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters the Constable was arrested in Sedibeng on Saturday night after driving into an accident, injuring a bystander.
He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol as well as reckless and negligent driving.
Brigadier Peters says besides for the criminal charges they face the members will also face internal disciplinary processes.
