Trirad’s radiologists embark on a winning partnership

Trirad Diagnostic Radiology Inc has rooms in Vanderbijlpark, Vaalpark and Vereeniging

The Vaal Triangle is privileged to be home to some of South Africa’s top medical service providers and specialists in their respective fields.
One of these is Trirad Diagnostic Radiology Inc, with rooms in Vanderbijlpark, Vaalpark and Vereeniging.
Dr Zelda Rossouw and Dr Sazi Msimang are specialist radiologists who between them have over 30 years of experience as clinical radiologists. Having worked together since 2005, they have now embarked on a winning partnership at Trirad Diagnostic Radiology.
Dr Rossouw, who holds MBCHB and MMED-Rad diagn. degrees is a general radiologist and has a special interest in mammography. She has attended many international courses in mammography and MRI of the breast. She forms part of a multi-disciplinary team with oncologists, pathologists and surgeons in the Vaal area.
Dr Msimang holds MBBS/MD and FCRAD (SA) degrees and practices as a general radiologist with a special interest in paediatric radiology. She has attended numerous paediatric workshops and courses focused on the most appropriate and effective diagnostic methods that minimize radiation exposure to children.

Services
Trirad’s Vanderbijlpark branch, situated at Mediclinic Emfuleni Hospital, is the main practice. It is staffed by a multidisciplinary team and offers a wide range of radiological services. As such, they have invested extensively in a range of advanced state-of-the-art equipment. Their MRI, Spiral CAT scanner and fully digital X-ray equipment are backed-up and supported by digital technology (PACS system) that is able to meet the requirements of all supporting specialists.
Trirad’s radiologists have a wide range of expertise and are dedicated to providing a safe and efficient use of advanced imaging.
“We work very closely with our general practitioners and specialists in order to improve the health and quality of radiology services we provide to our patients,” says Dr Rossouw.
A brand-new X-Ray department has recently been installed at Medivillage in Vereeniging, which has been functional since September 1 this year. Trirad’s Mammogram department is located at their Vereeniging branch, which also provides bone density assessments, antenatal fetal screening and general radiological procedures.
“We strive to be a center of excellence where our qualified, HPCSA registered doctors, technical and clerical staff are committed to providing a quality comprehensive service. We go to great lengths to ensure that our dedicated screening, diagnostic and interventional services are conducted in a relaxed, calm and safe environment,” says Dr Msimang.
The most recent addition to their practise is situated at Netcare Hospital in Vaalpark, where their friendly staff will help you with CT’s, Ultrasounds, Screenings and normal X-rays.

Antenatal ultrasound services
Trirad has a qualified sonographer, registered with the Foetal Medicine Foundation (UK), at hand, who has years of commissioned experience in obstetrics. Pregnant moms can be sure that Trirad’s friendly staff will take excellent care of them when they come in for screenings such as a Preeclampsia screening or a 11 to 13-week foetal anomaly scan, including Downs syndrome screening.
MRI and CT scans, Screening and Ultrasounds are done by appointment only, but no appointment is needed for X-rays.

Breast cancer screening
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Trirad’s radiologists remind you to do some self-examination, using the “TLC” principal: Touch, Look and Come (for a screening). If anything suspicious is detected, such as nipple retraction, a discharge or lumps, act fast. Early-stage cancer detection can save your life!
