Curfew operation yields results

SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng District SAPS’ Senior Management together with De Deur Station Management led by Major General Molefe hit the streets of the De Deur policing precinct with high visibility stop and searches including illegal shebeens searches recently. 

Twenty-two suspects were arrested for various crimes such as possession of dagga & drugs, selling liquor without license, selling illicit cigarettes and drunken driving.

Police said that as the operation continued, a black BMW 1 Series fitted with blue lights was spotted, the driver tried to drive away but police gave a chase and recovered the vehicle, as the driver left it and ran away.

Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe said that the vehicle was identified as being positive for an Orange Farm car-jacking case.
