GDE appoints law firm to investigate sexual misconduct at Vaal High

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Following allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against some educators at Vaal High School, the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has appointed a law firm to investigate sexual misconduct at Vaal High.

“This is to confirm that a number of educators at Vaal High School, are now under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct.” GDE said.
“Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has appointed a law firm to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against the educators and principal at the school.”
After concerns were raised on social media Lesufi said he has noted with concern the allegations leveled against some educators at Vaal High and visited the school on the 1st of October.

On Thursday department spokesperson Steve Mabona said: “We can confirm that after receiving the report he decided that a law firm be appointed. We will announce outcome of the investigation and implement recommendations.”
