Suspects nabbed for impersonating police officials

EVATON.- The police have warned that impersonating a Police Official is a serious offence and the South African Police Service (SAPS) doesn’t take it light as this is damaging the image of the SAPS.

This comes after a 29 years old suspect and a 35 years old suspect were arrested at Small Farms in Evaton recently.

According to police spokesperson Sgt. Gertrude Makhale the Vanderbijlpark Task Team followed a lead of suspects who are impersonating Police Officials.

“On Friday the 13th of November 2020 the SAPS received a tip off that there were two suspects who visited the victim’s family about a sensitive case.  It is alleged that the suspects pretended to be Police Officials and 1 suspect introduced himself as the new Investigating Officer for the case of the victim and alleged that he is accompanied by his Supervisor.”

Motive for pretending to be a Police Officer was not known.

The suspects will be appearing to the court of law soon.
