At approximately 20h00 on Monday night, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two vehicles in the middle of the road. Two critically injured people were found trapped inside the taxi while several others with moderate injuries were found walking around on the scene.
The Provincial Fire Services had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the trapped patients. Once freed, medics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured with advanced life support interventions. After treatment, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
