Grasmere taxi rollover leaves two dead, fourteen injured

GRASMERE.- Two people were killed and fourteen others injured when their taxi rolled on the N1 north-bound in Grasmere.

ER24 paramedics and several other services, arrived on the scene shortly before 07h00 on Monday morning to find the taxi on its roof on the side of the road.

Several people were found lying around the vehicle.

Medics assessed the patients and found that one man and one woman had sustained numerous fatal injuries.

Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.
Fourteen other patients were assessed and found to have sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor.

The patients were treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
