Two arrested for possession of drugs, unlicensed firearm

ORANGE FARMS.- Two men face multiple charges after the Sedibeng K9 Unit found a Norinco 9mm pistol with 9 rounds, one shotgun round and two Ziploc bags containing crystal meth in their Orange Farms home.

On Thursday, 11 March, Warrant Officer Mogopodi Khaole, Sgt Mamokete Radebe, Sgt Matsepe Stona and Sgt Tiisetso Makenete received information of suspects who are in possession of an illegal firearm in Orange Farms area. The member’s proceeded to the address in conjunction with Orange Farms crime prevention unit, two African males were found inside the house. According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Martin Seaman the house was searched and a Norinco 9mm pistol with 9 rounds, one shotgun round and two Ziploc bags containing crystal meth where found. “A case docket for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as possession of drugs was opened.” The suspects were detained at Orange Farms police station for further investigation and will appear in the Vereeniging Magistrates court soon on the related charges.
