Murdered man’s decomposing body found in unused water pit

EVATON. – Four suspects are behind bars following the gruesome discovery of a man’s decomposing body in an unused water pit in Small Farms, Evaton.

It is said that on Saturday 13, April at about 16:00 the community in Small Farms found the naked body of unknown man in the decomposing state thrown into unused water pit.

The police were summoned to the crime scene. Police Spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi said that on further investigation blood was found in one of the rooms in the same yard and there were worms showing that the decomposed body had been in the room and the room was sprinkled with jays fluid to keep the smell down. 

“It was established that the room belongs to the landlord’s son.

One witness staying in the same yard reported that on Tuesday, 9 April, during the night one of the suspects and his uncle were seen assaulting the deceased accusing him of stealing from them.

The suspects were sought after and could not be found at places where they are used visit.”

Msibi said that police investigations continued and on Sunday, 11 April, through intensive investigation Evaton Detectives arrested four suspects that allegedly murdered the deceased.

They will soon appear at Sebokeng Magistrate Court.
