RIP Elizabeth (Beth) Thomas
VAAL. - This week the Vaal said goodbye to one of the most treasured Rotarians in our District.

Annemarie Mostert – District Governor for RI D9400 writes:
In 2007 Beth Thomas was elected as the District Governor of D9300 to serve her year in 2009/2010.
As a true Irish woman, she applied her exceptional business leadership skills in her law firm, in polictics and in her church.
Beth was well respected by Toastmasters worldwide as a board member and trainer throughout Africa and beyond. In Rotary, Beth diligently headed the RLI programme for a number of years and this took her to our neighbouring countries too.
She also served on various district committees. Beth was also a Paul Harris Fellow and a Benefactor.

Some six years ago, Beth became ill and she underwent several sessions of treatment: improving but then lapsing too. She was a very positive well-respected lady but despite this, God claimed her as his latest angel on 26 April 2021.
Beth was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband Cobus cared for her with much love and she spoke of him always with affection. She will surely be missed but not forgotten.
Memories of Beth will remain in now D9400 and with all her fellow Rotarians in the RC of River Club. Beth was a Rotarian for over two decades. Our deepest condolences to Cobus and her family and friends.
RIP PDG Beth
