VANDERBIJLPARK. – The recent celebration of Rotary Club Vanderbijlpark’s 65th birthday at Stonehaven-on-Vaal was indeed an event to remember.

This club is the second oldest in the Vaal, with the Vereeniging club being the first.     Club members, partners, family, Rotarians from Riverside Club, round table members and exchange students were among the guests that attended the event.

The birthday cakes were provided by Past President Jackie van Waveren and Past President Dave Gilliland, who shared memories of the club’s history.

A scrap book containing photos of past projects, the club’s charter and a list of founder members were displayed as well.

After proposing a toast with champagne, President Sonja Gilliland took charge of the cutting of the birthday cake, surrounded by the guests.

As always, the night ended with fun, with guests enjoying good fellowship!
