Car stolen in Jo’burg recovered in local mall parking lot

“Vanderbijlpark Police are now investigating a case of possession of stolen vehicle.”

SEDIBENG.- Three suspects have been arrested after a vehicle stolen in Jeppe, Johannesburg, was found parked in a local mall on Sunday.

The suspects, aged 22, 23 and 33 were arrested for possession of a stolen Toyota Auris.

This is after the members of Vanderbijlpark Special Operation spotted a suspicious vehicle which was parked at the mall. Police said that the members reacted promptly and quietly approach the vehicle and instructed the suspects to get out of the vehicle.

Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Gertrude Makhale said that the police searched the car and made a vehicle enquiry which confirmed that the vehicle was stolen in Johannesburg.

“The suspects’ intentions were cut very short by the vigilant members, this comes after Vanderbijlpark has been encountering several crimes such as theft of motor vehicle and robberies. We will not rule out that suspects may be linked to the other crimes around our area.”

It is unknown what kind of crime the suspects were going to commit.
