
DE DEUR. – The police in De Deur policing precinct are on a hunt for suspects following a business robbery at a bottle store in Walkerville on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Constable Maria Letsele says, “At about 17:50 a security guard reported on duty as usual at the bottle store. On arrival he was approached by armed suspects with firearms already inside the building. The guard was subsequently tied up while the suspects pointed their firearms at him.
“ Suspects then seized his firearm, two cell phones and a wallet with R120,00. Later when his colleague arrived, he was also cornered and tied up.”
Letsele states that the suspects managed to take a safe which was later found outside forced opened .
“An undisclosed money was taken from the safe. Liquor was also taken from the store room and one firearm with 9 rounds was taken from the security guard. The suspects then fled the scene.”
