Woman killed by dogs

VANDERBIJLPARK. – A family is left reeling in pain after a mother of five children was killed after allegedly being bitten by dogs Bleasbok Plots recently. The incident happened in the afternoon of November 2, at the Plot that is about 25 km outside of Vanderbijlpark. It is said that the deceased,  Funiwe Maria Mphokela (50) was in the company of her cousin, Meriam Mphokela when the incident took place. Tshepiso Mphokela (26), a son of the deceased said that  the two allegedly came across cattle roaming around the plot and they went to the owner to report them as anyone who reported cattle roaming around or  finding missing cattle was rewarded.

When they approached the gates, they were apparently attacked by the dogs.

It is not yet clear whether the owner saw the incident, but he was later apparently informed of it and he is alleged to have said that the pair were trespassing.

An ambulance and the police were called to the scene and the deceased was declared dead. The deceased was buried on November 13.
