NWU Vanderbijlpark Campus to host Business Breakfast

North-West University Alumni Relations Office, in partnership with the bhive Business Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), will host a business breakfast themed "Building a future that works for us".

The engagement session will bring together stakeholders, including business heavyweights, alumni, students, the community, local businesses, and various government departments.

The annual event is an independent, post-budget speech and State of the Nation Address (SONA) breakfast that will feature a panel discussion from internal and external experts who will unpack issues around the recent SONA and the Budget Speech.

The panelists include:

•    NWU lecturer and political analyst Barry Hanyane,

•    CEO of Seriti Resources- Mike Teke,

•    Executive Director at Diagnostics – Francois Fouche

•    and Strategic Affairs director at Human Sciences Research Council, Dr Palesa Sekhejane.

NWU lecturer Michelle Meixieira Groenewald will serve as moderator of the event.

“We are delighted to have thought leaders, economic and political analysts gathering on our campus for what promises to be a thought-provoking and productive discussion.

“The business breakfast aims to offer insight into how certain reforms will affect businesses and the South African economy. This will be a robust discussion on the highlights of the Budget Speech and the SONA impact​ in the country, including how it will affect ordinary people and businesses.

“The panelists will share their personal analysis of the Budget Speech and the SONA before engaging in a panel discussion where the floor will be opened to attendees,” said Zanele Ngobese, NWU Alumni Relations Practitioner, and the organiser of the event.

Ngobese added that the Business Breakfast is open to all Alumni and Friends of the NWU and will include a premium breakfast. She has encouraged people to RSVP before March 24 at noon. For more information, contact Zanele Ngobese on 016 910 3250.
