Help reunite them with their loved ones

SEBOKENG. – In the spirit of Easter, the Vaal Mental Health Organization needs the community’s help in locating the loved ones of two of their patients.

The first case is that of a patient called Tshepo who was removed from his mother’s care on the night of 23 December 2004 or 23 February 2004. Elme Coetzee, a Social Worker at the organization, said that the police took the child (Tshepo) from the mother as she was under strong influence of alcohol late at night.

“It is said that the mother roamed the streets and it was not to the benefit of the 3-month-old baby. She was near the railway lines in Sebokeng, the area is not known. The baby was taken to a children’s home where he was taken care of.” Tshepo, a name that he was given by the house mother where he was allocated, is currently in need of an Identity Document (ID) and needs the mother’s, or her family’s details, to get it.
Lenah Mbele.

•In the second case, the organization needs help in locating the family of a child known only as Lenah. She was removed by the police from her home under unknown circumstances and placed in a children’s home.

Her details were not provided by the police. Coetzee said the house mother where she was placed named her Lenah Mbele.

“The house mother had a severe stroke about 10 years ago and now can’t communicate. She can’t remember the details of the child. Anybody who might know her is asked to please come forward.”

Should you have any information about the above children please contact Elme Coetzee from Vaal Mental Health on 016 100 0334.
