Sasol invests R3 million to fix the R57

SASOLBURG. - Sasol has taken its commitment to safety a step further by investing millions towards upgrading and revamping roads in Sasolburg.  As part of the company’s way of making a meaningful impact on the lives of people living in its fence-line communities, Sasol has invested R3 million to fix the potholes along the R57.

This is only one of the many road safety projects that the company has invested in. In the last year alone, Sasol has invested over R8 million in various road infrastructure projects aimed at fixing, revamping and upgrading roads in Sasolburg, Zamdela and surrounding areas.

“Safety is Sasol’s number one value and priority, and it is a value that extends beyond the employees to the fence-line communities around our operations.

“We hope that by improving the road infrastructure in Sasolburg, we will ensure that both our employees and communities remain safe when travelling on them”, said Rightwell Laxa, Senior Vice President at Sasolburg and Ekandustria Operations.

Sasol is also intentional about investing in projects that create meaningful impact in society. For the road safety projects, Sasol worked with black female-owned companies based in Sasolburg, as a way of ensuring that these projects also contribute to the economic upliftment of female-run businesses.
