ELM CFO threatens Klippies Kritzinger

ELM’s CFO is again in deep trouble only weeks after being found guilty of misconduct - now for abusive texts to Klippies Kritzinger (President of the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce) with direct death threat and a photo of the grave of the official’s own mother.

The WhatsApp texts, in Vaalweekblad’s possession, stating “U will die” to Kritzinger, have now reportedly resulted in both a criminal charge against the still-suspended Andile Dyakala and an application for a court protection order against him.

Dyakala’s threats were made after Kritzinger commented publicly on Dyakala being found guilty of misconduct in a disciplinary hearing last month – but only given a final warning instead of being fired.

Dyakala was last month found guilty of misconduct and bringing ELM into disrepute but the findings have not yet been assessed by ELM Council, which Kritzinger said should send the “unduly lenient” disciplinary findings to the Labour Court for review.

Now Dyakala’s latest alleged abusive conduct is likely also to feed into mistrust of whether ELM can control its own affairs after its partial state of administration was allowed to lapse on 31 August by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

Dyakala is reportedly not yet back at work and ELM council is only expected to address his matter in a special council sitting this week, said political sources.

Klippies Kritzinger (President of the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce).

Approached for comment, Dyakala did not deny sending WhatsApp messages to Kritzinger, saying:
“On the Klippies matter, it is between me and him. He threatened to get me out of ELM as he has power to do so and I told him my mother who is now my ancestor (IDLOZI LAM) is more powerful than him.”

The Dyakala texts have also been met with shock in many political, business and ELM circles, particularly after pictures of his own mother’s grave were sent from his number to Kritzinger’s mobile phone.

The GTCoC and Kritzinger have been vocal against ELM’s lack of service delivery and administrative incompetence over the years, particularly Dyakala’s role in gross financial mismangement of especially bulk services such as Eskom and Rand Water, to whom ELM owes billions.

The latest incident is also likely to result in additional charges being brought against Dyakala by ELM as the texts sent by Dyakala, clearly constitute unacceptable behaviour by an official, said official sources who did not wish to be named.
