Help the GTCoC identify top achievers in the Vaal!

Awards will be presented to the winners at the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce's prestigious Gala Evening on 22 July.

 

 

Get your nominations in for this year’s Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce (GTCoC) prestigious awards.  The GTCOC would like to involve the community in which it serves, by opening up the nominations for the 2023 awards to the public. Please send in your nomination to Chamber Secretary Sandy du Toit via email on admin@gtcoc.co.za by no later than Friday, 30 June. Awards will be presented to the winners at the GTCoC’s prestigious Gala Evening on 22 July.

Below is a list and short description of each of this year’s awards.

 

  1. Warrior Trophy

The Warrior Trophy is awarded to an identity that shows bold determination and perseverance, despite the socio-economic development or slow-growing economy. They believe in the community and move forward without giving in to negative or conflicting statistics in the surrounding markets.

 

  1. Impi Trophy

The Impi Trophy is awarded to a “Groundbreaker”. This identity has left its footprint in our region and has situated itself internationally as a well-known brand drawing numerous markets worldwide.

 

  1. Historical Trophy

The Historical Trophy is awarded to an Ambassador of the Vaal Triangle. This identity has become a centre piece of the Vaal’s foundation and has played a significant role in the development of the region through asset management.

 

  1. Freedom Trophy

The Freedom Trophy is awarded to an identity that has an impact and creates growth in the Vaal Triangle. They contribute towards the development of skills, education and advice that leads to the enrichment of our entire region.

 

  1. Capital Growth Trophy

The Capital Growth Trophy is awarded to an identity that specifically invests in our region. They have a heart and passion for the community and believe that their investment will uplift our surrounding areas and generate wealth creation in our entire region. They have become a flagship in representing the Vaal.

 

  1. The Voice Trophy

The Voice Trophy is awarded to the medium that distributes news in the Vaal Triangle. They have become part of many households, by equipping them with knowledge. This medium has become a part of the heritage and nostalgia of the Vaal Triangle.

 

  1. Helping Hands Trophy

The Helping Hands Trophy is awarded to an identity that selflessly serves the community. The voice of this organisation is heard by many and seen as a trustworthy and safe haven for help and advice.

 

  1. Saving Lives Trophy

The Saving Lives Trophy is awarded to an identity that adheres to the needs of the Vaal Triangle by focusing on the health and safety of the community, as well as on the expansion

of wealth. They are constantly striving to deliver better and more efficient medical services, leaving the Vaal Triangle in safer hands.

 

  1. Showing the Vaal Trophy

The Showing the Vaal Trophy is awarded to an identity that plays a vital role in promoting the Vaal Triangle, as well as South Africa. They are well-established and have made their mark in the tourism industry in South Arica.

 

  1. Empire Trophy

The Empire Trophy is awarded to an identity for their contribution towards the Vaal Triangle through socio-economic upliftment, employment creation and SMME development.

 

  1. Top Woman of the Year Trophy

The Top Woman of the Year Trophy is awarded to a woman who has made a significant contribution towards the upliftment of women in the corporate environment, through the expansion of businesses, job creation and involving and developing women in the Vaal Triangle.

 

  1. Legend of the Vaal Trophy

The Legend of the Vaal Trophy is awarded to a stalwart in the Vaal Triangle for their lifetime contribution and significant role played in the Chamber and community.

 

  1. The Vaal’s Ambassador of Disability Trophy

The Vaal’s Ambassador of Disability Trophy is awarded to an individual who represents the Vaal Triangle throughout South Africa, though his or her disability.  This candidate is a role-model and true inspiration to anyone facing any disability, as their successes creates hope and the belief that any disability can open the door to new and different opportunities.

 

  1. The Vaal’s Ambassador of Sport Trophy

The Vaal’s Ambassador of Sport Trophy is awarded to an individual who represents the Vaal Triangle throughout South Africa, through the means of Sport. This candidate makes an impact and priceless contribution to the upliftment of the community, by promoting a healthy way of thinking about Sport activities.

 

  1. Vaal’s Ambassador of Culture Trophy

The Vaal’s Ambassador of Culture is awarded to an individual who represents the Vaal Triangle throughout South Africa, by his/her contribution through Culture. Culture is the heartbeat of any nation and its immeasurable strength to re-unite opposing beliefs and opinions is often underestimated. Culture brings hope, inspires, and motivates the nation.

 

  1. Peerless Pioneer Trophy

The Peerless Pioneer Trophy is awarded to a strong and steadfast leader in the community, as well as throughout South Africa. This Pioneer is an individual who commands authority, creates vision and inspires others to become their ultimate best. He/she is greatly admired by the community and their contribution and example to others are unparalleled.

 

  1. Junior Businesswoman of the Year Trophy

The Junior Businesswoman Trophy is awarded to a young individual for her dedication, effort, creative vision to sustain her business throughout Covid and in very difficult economic times. You are indeed a person that inspires your peers and by this nomination we want to recognize your ability to adapt and re-adjust your path to success.

 

  1. Junior Businessman of the Year Trophy

The Junior Businessman Trophy is awarded to a young individual for his dedication, effort, creative vision to sustain his business throughout Covid and in very difficult economic times. You are indeed a person that inspires your peers and by this nomination we want to recognize your ability to adapt and re-adjust your path to success.
