Wish Upon A Star project brings lots of joy

Thanks to this year's project some 700 children will received age-appropriate Christmas gifts.

Lusa Community Chest presented its 20th Wish Upon A Star project this year. It is an annual drive to which local companies and individuals can contribute in order to buy Christmas gifts for less privileged children in local orphanages and child care institutions.

Thanks to this year’s project some 700 children will received age-appropriate gifts. In the photo are representatives of beneficiaries and companies that participated in the 2023 project, as well as private donors and members of Boots & Hats Line Dancers who attended the official handing-over ceremony. It was held recently at the Emerald Resort and Casino in Vanderbijlpark.

Among the organisations and institutions that received donations were Kamohelo Centre for the Disabled, Katleho Home, Annani Centre, Umephi Youth Care, Sasolburg Youth Care, Lewenskruispad, Catherine Robson Children’s Home, June Nicholls School, Tshepong Youth Care, Lerato Home, Child Welfare (Sasolburg, Meyerton and Vanderbijlpark), and NG Welsyn (Meyerton, Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark). Lusa Community Chest thanks all donors for their time, effort and monetary contributions which made this year’s project possible.
