Children’s homes benefit by LUSA’s Winter Warm Food Campaign

LUSA's Winter Warm Food Campaign managed to fill up the food stocks for 320 children in 18 homes in the Vaal Triangle

Earlier this year LUSA Community Chest reached out to big corporates, local businesses and the general public for support in a crucial endeavor: To ensure that local children’s homes have enough food for their young residents this winter.

Most of these children’s centres have not received their subsidies for a number of months and regular donations have dropped due to the stagnating economy. The pantries and refrigerators of many local child and youth care centres were already depleted at the beginning of winter, but with the help of loyal companies and kind individuals, LUSA’s Winter Warm Food Campaign managed to fill up the food stocks for 320 children in 18 homes in the Vaal Triangle.

At the official Winter Warm presentation day at Emerald Resort and Casino, Mrs Veronica Cronje (Director: LUSA Community Chest) and Retha Jacobs (LUSA’s project coordinator) thanked everyone who partnered with the Chest to make a difference in the lives of many children in desperate need.

* LUSA Community Chest also wishes to thank BSI Steel (Platinum Award), Safripol, Staro, Cleveland Silica, Alta Pretorius, Vaal Milling, Emerald Resort and Casino, Boots & Hats, Online Analytics, Huizemark Vaal, Big Bull Meat, Oophand, Shoprite, Fruit & Veg City, Mardo Photos, media partners IFM 102.2 and Mooivaal Media, as well as individual role players for their contributions in making this year’s project such a success.
