Unexpected good treatment
Well done and thank you to all the staff and kind members of the public.

With all the negative comments we regularly hear about the Department of Home Affairs we were dreading having to renew our passports. Should we rather go to one of the banks in Johannesburg? No. So we made an appointment at the Vereeniging branch. And wow…what an experience!
From the car guard and the official at the entrance, (being elderly, we were given preference), right through all the formalities, we were seen to with smiles. A week later an SMS arrived: Our passports were ready for collection. Off we go to collect them and received the same helpful and friendly service. Even a teenage girl from a school in Sharpeville offered to stand so that I could sit. Well done and thank you to all the staff and kind members of the public.
