Vanderbijl Library reopens with upgraded facilities
According to the municipality, the latest upgrade phase focused on the library’s foyer and reference section, creating a more modern, welcoming, and conducive environment for reading, research, and study.
VANDERBIJLPARK – The newly refurbished Vanderbijlpark library is now officially open to the public.
This comes after Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) officially reopened the library on September 19, following a temporary closure for Phase 2 of the refurbishment project.
According to the municipality, the latest upgrade phase focused on the library’s foyer and reference section, creating a more modern, welcoming, and conducive environment for reading, research, and study. Assistant manager of Library and Information Services Moji Tshabalala said the project was fast-tracked to ensure completion ahead of the upcoming examination period.
“This was to allow students and community members to benefit from the improved facilities without disruption as the examination session is about to start,” she said.
Emfuleni spokesperson Makhosonke Sangweni extended gratitude to the community for their patience during the upgrade.
“The municipality expresses gratitude to members of the public for their patience during the closure and further encourages residents to make use of the library as a hub for learning, reading, and community growth,” he said.
The Vanderbijlpark Library is now fully operational and ready to welcome visitors.
