Mrs South Africa 2026 seeks next formidable queen
Mrs South Africa 2026 is open – are you ready to be formidable?
Applications are now open for the 2026 Mrs South Africa pageant, with organisers declaring this year the “year of the formidable woman.” Married women from across the country are already submitting entries, inspired by the pageant’s recent trailblazing winners.
The past three queens exemplify this spirit. Tshego Gaelae made history as the first Black woman crowned Mrs World, Erin-Jane Miller became a strong advocate for women and vulnerable children, and last year’s winner, Verushka Singh, became the first Indian Mrs South Africa and a pioneer in climate sustainability.
Joani Jacobs, CEO of Mrs South Africa, says the programme’s growing legacy has sparked unprecedented interest. “Every year we see more women discovering the value the pageant and our sisterhood bring – from confidence and personal growth to lifelong connections,” she says.
The 10-month journey, known as the “MBA of Life,” equips participants with skills in leadership, public speaking, media handling, event management, and personal branding. Coaches, alumni, and specialist partners support contestants, helping them pursue opportunities across personal, professional, and community spheres.
Applications are open via the Mrs South Africa website. Casting events take place in Cape Town (29 January), Durban (30 January), and the National Casting at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort on 31 January. The deadline for entries is 26 January 2026.
Jacobs adds that the programme fosters lasting bonds: “Contestants lift and motivate one another, ensuring every crown stays firmly in place – a vital ingredient in our continued success.”
