Man fatally shot in Sicelo
A brutal shooting has left the community in shock as police launch an urgent investigation.

MEYERTON – Local police are investigating a murder that occurred on Sunday evening (11 January) in Sicelo, Meyerton.
According to Meyerton police, officers responded to a call at around 19:00, where they found a man lying in a yard with multiple gunshot wounds.
The deceased, identified as Thuto Poopa (40) from Lesotho, sustained seven gunshot wounds: one to the chest, one to the back, two to each hand, and one to the right thigh. Police said he had been pursued by two unknown armed men before being shot.
Two cartridges were recovered from a neighbouring yard, and one projectile was found inside a nearby shack. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
No suspects have been identified. The investigation is ongoing, with police, the Local Crime Record Centre, and ambulance services involved.
